About UsATVCampers.net, the official website for Cook ATV Campers, LLC was founded in 2009 by Jerome and Lisa Ingraham, who identified a need for a better way to camp with your ATV. Jerome, who had been in commercial construction for 38 years, owning J/L Ingraham Construction LLC since 1993, decided to take his construction experience and create the best ATV Camper the market has yet to see - an ATV Camper that is versatile in various ways for both work and play. Hence the birth of Cook ATV Campers, LLC, named after Lisa Ingraham's maiden name "Cook".
Our story, by Lisa and Jerome Ingraham:
Hi everyone, thank you for stopping by our website. We started this business because we live in God's country, on the Grande Ronde River in WA State. We do a lot of 4-wheeling to the mountains around us. We were always packing and forgetting things, now we do not have to. All our gear is in one spot all the time. Furthermore, it's a pain to cook off the ground and/or in bad weather as you cannot always find dry wood, and you cannot haul all the gear you need on the back of a 4-wheeler.
Everyone was just carrying what they could and used small wagons behind their ATVs, which always managed to tip over. We started with just a flatbed trailer that we made with a tarp over the top, but that didn't work as it was too dirty and too heavy with no extra space, and we still had to cook off the ground.
We then just kept trying different ideas until we came up with this model where you can cook off the ground as well as sleep in it, which Jerome has done many times when he's out with the guys. If you don't have a fire, your camp stove and gear (spices, pots, pans, plates, cups, coffee pot, etc.) are all there in the cabinets, and if one chooses, can also be covered with a tarp. The extra storage area (belly or bottom of our ATV Camper) is always handy for extra propane tanks, rain gear, first aid kits, axes, and shovels and buckets required for camping in the forest, or simply anything extra that one always forgets - it just stays in there - so it is never forgotten.
ATV Camper Trailers SleepCoolers, and extra gas can go on top so sleeping bags, clothes, food, cots, tents, and port-a-potty can be safe and dry inside. If hunting or fishing, then game can be strapped to the top for safe keeping. We changed the back scissor jack to two stabilizer jacks (one on each side) as this works better. We think these are great because they are so versatile. They can be used by anyone for a variety of activities. All your gear and tools will be in one spot instead of spread throughout your home, business, garage or shop. You can be ready to go all the time.
Our ATV Camper is now something we can't live without, and we're confident that once you have one, you won't be able to live without it either. Since we made our ATV Camper from our own necessity, we can assure you that it's the best quality you'll find on the market, given that with our 30 years of construction experience, we wouldn't have it any other way.
